NASCAR/HAWAII: Beginner League

NASCAR/HAWAII: Beginner League

I'm curious if theres any interest in one.
I love Nascar Racing and Hawaii, but I just don't have the drive to spend the hours and
hours of offline practice needed to race with the big boys.  (hey thats almost a pun!)
See if this sounds interesting...
A league comprised of beginners, who love racing hawaii, can race clean, but just lack
the speed.  I see the series mainly as a learning experience.  The main goal would be to get
some good quality laps around all the courses with real drivers, and hopefully gaining
the skill to move on to more competetive series.

If at least 10 people or so respond, I'll set it up.
And theres no need to tell me this is probably a bad idea :)

Along the same lines how about an IROC league for beginners where you
have forces setup so the cars are prepared equal. Then the drivers would
have to do the work to be up front instead of the chassis.

.

That's not a bad idea at all.  In fact, it's probably the most
rewarding thing you'll do this year!
Well, maybe not *that* great....

The idea of leagues gives the drivers a chance to race against the
same people with similar interests.   PLUS, drivers are more
cautious when there's a bit of ACCOUNTABILITY.   If you***up one
week, you'll get some attention and maybe some hints from your fellow
racers....after all, they have to race against you next week, and
will benefit if you get better.

Have fun!

I had the same thought this morning. Last nite we had a IVGA Silver
Series Race on the lines of the winston Select series. We had 17
drivers with skills from 4 all the way to 11. we ran at michigan with
ACE setup forced, 30 % race which required at least 1 pit.
After the race all the top drivers, 10 & 11's griped that the race was
slow. however i had a lot of fun. The racing was close, there were
only two cautions, both minor, and the winner was a 10, 2nd a 7,
3rd a 10 and 4th myself at a 7. What was so fun was the fact that no
one could come up real quickly on another. The best drivers won,
pitting played a bigger role, and every mile per hour of speed was
precious. I hope this has helped, but be sure to set up the races with
forced setups or the times will get faster anyway.
