I've been racing against a group of guys since late August via e-mail. No
special utilities needed. Just save the game when the computer takes over
to change drivers and e-mail the saved file to your opponent (See page 109
of the manual for more info on Multiplayer Racing--the only thing we do
different if e-mail the saved file back and forth). Its much more fun than
any Hotlap contest or single player championship. We do Qualifying and
100% race distance between 2-5 players. It takes about a week to play a
game sometimes (especially with 3-5 players) but its a good rush when its
your turn. Its not head-to-head (the modem play sucks anyway) but this is
what we have w/ GP2... it takes some patience but it loads of fun.
I waited and waited for a website dedicated to this type of racing but none
showed. So I just made one by myself. Its not a league. Its more like a
club, because you end-up getting to know the guys you race with better and
its more of a gentlemen's game. The players tend to be a bit older than you
might expect, too--I'm the baby of the group at 29yrs!
My new (first time) website tries to explain how to do this and provides
some tips guidelines regarding play. The site also has a multiplayer
drivers pool where you can find other people to race with. The site is
only a few days old, unfortunately, so its just the guys I've been racing
since August listed now. There is also a listing sort of Hall of Fame
(The Winner's Circle) broken down by the number of players and by track.
There's plenty of room for everyone to be famous.
My GP2 pages include "the Hotseat," The Drivers Paddock and The Winner's
Circle

I'm on holiday until Wednesday night (Tokyo time) so I can add new names
quickly until then. Just check out the site and then e-mail me your
preferences and I'll post them ASAP.
Hope to hear from you,
Joe
