Is there a retail outlet for the Daytona tracks for Legends and N3?

papyrus created a nascar 3 (and supposedly a nascar legends) demo to include
in this years official daytona 500 program. because of licensing with
daytona international speedway this is the only place the daytona track will
be released.

so if you didn't go to the daytona 500 or have a friend or family member
that went you will be sol. you may still be able to purchase the official
program from daytona but i do not know if it will still include the demo cd
or not.

there is also some questions surrounding this - as some people claim the
demo cd comes with the normal $20 program while others say it is with the
$60 hard-cover millennium edition only. no idea and i would surely check
with someone who was going to be shipping it to you that it is indeed
included.

the daytona track from nascar 3 demo can easily be copied into your full
version and with and edit or two of the calendar you can be running it
correctly. details on the daytona legends track at this time are quite
vague. i have heard there is one and the graphics are set in the same time
period. i have also heard that it does not exist and also that it does exist
but nobody as of yet has it running in the full version of legends.

there are some sites that provide converters for nl to n3 tracks so if you
did have the n3 daytona demo you should be able to convert the color pallet
to nl pretty easily - however, the buildings and grandstands will all be
modern.

the controversy stems from two thing -

one, is that people who have been loyal customers to papyrus are being hosed
by them because they have no way of getting daytona - which you have to
admit is about the most legendary track of the modern nascar era. however, i
agree with those that feel papyrus has done all they could and they have no
option because of the daytona speedway licensing.(yes, i downloaded the
track from the demo)

two, is that the handful of folks that went to the race and actually try the
demo, will be sorely disappointed if they go out to purchase the game only
to find it does not include daytona (unless they were to copy is over and
modify their calendar files.)

so - there it is in a nut shell...

Since this seems to be the subject of hot conversation, is there
a retail outlet and a way to obtain the proper CD version of Daytona
for Legends and N3 and adapt it to the regular sim?
I only have Legends presently operating in my system, so do I
need to buy a separate CD? OR ---- are they contained on the same one?

     Your assistance appreciated

Are you totally mental??? Just get the track off of the net and
be done with it.
