"Simulate" Indy for ICR2?

"Simulate" Indy for ICR2?

I just thought of a possible way around the Indy licencing problem.

What if Papyrus just developed a track for Indy Motor Speedway and just not
call it the Indy Motor Speedway?  They could just makeup a name for it.  If
they had to, maybe they could make the grandstands etc. look different than
Indy's. Just keep the track identical to Indy's.

What do you think?

I was thinking when Papyrus said they couldn't do Daytona because Sega
(sigh)had the rights to the name, that perhaps they could have done a
reasonable facsimilie of Daytona Speedway and just have it listed in
the game as "Volusia Boulevard Speedway" or something totally
different.

They'd probably still get sued by Sega (sigh) but it would restore my
faith in humanity that the lawyers haven't totally taken over and
people were willing to give the people what they want.

Lawyers would still find a bone to chew on that, however, if they
made a track pak of oddball tracks, they could include the Ontario Calf.
track that was a very close clone/copy of the old square turn Indy.
       (Time for my soapbox)
However I suggest you ignore the Indy 500 and all things
associated with it as in real life the IRL qualifying restrictions will
mean the Cars and Drivers of ICR and ICR2 will NOT be racing there come
Memorial day.  Until the traditional open qualifying is returned, boycot
the Indianapolis 500.
