Yesterday morning in an online race at Zandvort I was almost (but not
quite - by a couple of hundred meters) lapped by George Sandman. As
he came round to take the chequered flag the flagman stood out and
waved it at me when I still had a lap to go. Most confusing.

A GPL bug?

It's apparently a bug. I've seen it happen several times. The flagman comes
out slightly in advance of the winner's arrival at the line. Anyone just in
front of the winner who crosses the line after the flagman makes his
appearance is scored as having completed the race, with one less lap than
they should have been allowed to complete.

My guess is that that little flaw will be fixed in 1.1.

But he didn't - he said he was *almost* overtaken. The race doesn't
start to end until the leader passes the flag.
