Guillemot Force Feedback Racing Wheel

Anyone has heard or used the above wheel by guillemot? it comes with
pedals, stick shift, paddle shift & a wheel with the prancing horse of
Ferrari at the centre. Have used it for less that a month of
NFS5-porsche unleashed when right hand paddle shift broke.

Yes exactly the same thing on mine, both paddle shiftes broke in a couple of
weeks, returned it and got a new one. This time it took about 2 months for
both the shifters to become broken, but I haven't really been using it until
F1 2000 came out. I then opened the wheel to see if I could fix it myself
and it's the most poor, cheap ass construction I've ever seen. So I would
like to warn everybody do NOT buy this wheel!

I've had mine for months and use it rather too much and think it's
fantastic. Its by far the best wheel I've tried and is very well built. It
has a real solid feel and the buttons/gear lever are very satisfying to use.
It just oozes quality.

Well if a fragile piece of plastic that bends every time you shift is your
idea of high quality then that's your opinion. It's just a short matter of
time before that piece of plastics snaps. The only explanation I can see to
that not all peoples paddle shifters brake is that either they don't use
them as much as some of us do or that there might exist a newer revision of
the wheel that has made them more durable. I noticed when I opened mine that
it said v1.0 on the pcb.

Me too.

But I think we are the lucky ones. Build quality seems a bit variable on
this newsgroup.

Mine works great & the pedals are excellent (touching wood)

Mine too, and it really has taken a battering on GPL and F12K in the last
few months!

Seems that we have 2 versions of the same wheel. Either that or I live in a
climate which detioriates plastic very fast!!!!
other than the 2 paddles, e'thing else is good. I think the wheel feels
better & offers more than the other wheels I  have tried. (t-master's,
M-soft's).
But to think Ferrari endorsed it b4 fully testing is out?
Watch out Shumi........maybe he broke his leg when the right paddle broke
off in his hand!!

The paddles can be fixed. I believe the problem started when they tried to
stiffen the paddle paddle feel because people said it was too floppy
feeling. Anyway, you will soon be able to get new paddles from Gmot, if they
aren't already available, and it only take about 30 minutes to fix them so
they don't break again.

I believe they are looking into the problem though.

I have had my Guillemot Wheel since Early January (As soon as it came out in
Australia) and it has been perfect. It has had a heap of use and everything
has remained in prime condition and is still as accurate as it was the day I
bought it. I have to agree "Some call me Tim" and say that it does feel of
high quality.
