Is this NG vanishing?

I decided to reinstall TIR and try out your patches.  I've always felt that
there is something quite good lurking somewhere in TIR, and although the
'sticky grass patch' and the sound patch help a little, I still can't take
it too seriously for various reasons including:
1) not being able to spin the car, in fact not really being able to lose
control at all
2) no damage
3) no engine blow-ups - no matter how hard I try
4) opposition too easy
4) very poor mirror quality
5) very irritating console type menus.
Any help with any of these?
Iain

We can DEFINITELY take care of the spinning issue -- there are some
"***" physics tweaks that can be easily implemented, and I plan
on releasing a "***" patch to enable people to install these
tweaks using a simple Windows-style installer.

The damage and engine blow-up issues are problematic -- I don't know
if there's any way to enable damage of any type (either visible or
unseen), but Razorworks may be releasing some editing info to the TIR
community, so we MAY eventually be able to unlock things like engine
damage.  Don't hold your breath on this one, though -- this may be the
game's worst shortcoming in the long run.

:-(

There is an AI file available at Blackhole Motorsports that cranks up
the AI's performance -- this makes the AI VERY tough in some
instances.  I'm trying to balance this with the AI behavior tweaks
that I'm working on . . . ultimately, the AI may turn out to be pretty
decent (as far as AI goes, anyway).

I can't do much about the mirrors or the console-style menus at the
moment, unfortunately.  We MAY eventually be able to tweak the mirror
resolution once we're able to unlock/unpack some of the game's system
files, but I think we're stuck with the menus as they currently are.

TIR will never replace GTR2002 as the ultimate *** GT sim, but
it's an ideal successor for Viper Racing and SCGT in sim racing's
"second tier" of realism (physics-wise, anyway).  If/when we're able
to add cars and tracks, I could see it becoming an ideal platform for
oddball mods with decent levels of realism, a la NASCAR Heat.

Summers coming.  Happens every year unless a new SIM is released.
