Has anyone been able to run a T2 off of a multi-port sound card? Is this
just wishful thinking, or do I have to but a game card in order to use a
T2?
Thanks in advance!

May need a little more background on your problem. Is this a PnP
soundcard? What type of trouble are you experiencing?

So forget the gamecard and get the T2! It rocks!

If your joystick works fine, you should have no problem with the T2. I
have personally talked to the people at Thrustmaster on a number of
occasions. They have said there was no need for me to get their ACM
card. I am running my T1 through the port on my Pro-Audio Spectrum
sound card. While I may not have the "cleanest" range, I don't
experience any problems with this setup. I would say it's safe to use
your current multi-port card. There have only been a few reports of
people needing to go out a buy an ACM or other gamecard. From what I
have seen here 99.8% of the people are happy with the performance thru
their sound-card setup.

I used to, but I'm very pleased I bought the ACM. The only place
around here I could find it (Northern Va.) was Microcenter. When I
played using my SB16's game port the steering on my games became
imprecise after a while. For instance, my car constantly crept to the
right on Papyrus sims. Also, using the game port on a sound cars means
you *must* use the supplied adapter where the ACM allows you to plug
right in.
When I finally got the ACM my lap times on road courses (ICRII)
went down by as much as .4 of a second! The only thing to which I can
attribute it is that the play felt smoother. The steering felt more
responsive and controllable. On ovals I was able to pick up an
additional .5mph in some places. My times/speeds on NASCAR Racing
improved by slightly greater margins.
What you have to do is disable the game port on the card, install
the ACM and drivers (this varies depending on the platform you're
using... Win95 is pretty dummy-proof) and have fun! The game port is
disabled by either removing a jumper or is software driven. For
instance, I've had my SB16 for almost two years now... the game port is
monkeyed with a jumper. You *must* disable the game port on the sound
card or else there will be a conflict with the port on the ACM.

The wheel and pedals connect together. There is only one game port needed. The
game port must support dual function joysticks. Most newer sound cards do.
