a friend, then we tried monza, Glenn, and the Ring and they're all
great fun to race that way.
I just wondered if any of you guys knows if it is possible to do it.
GPL is the greatest sim and I love playing it, and I am always
improving all the time so that keeps me playing it and enjoying it,
but I must admit that the graphics are starting to look dull to be
honest. It could do with a graphic re-vamping.
I know this has been discussed here several times, but I just can't
believe that the GPL engine is just going to sit there until it fades
away, why not let others use it and make it even better?
Sometimes I think about a modern F1 simulator with the GPL engine,
that would be great, ok we know that very realistic physics don't sell
as much as tomb raider but they could easily introduce some sort of
arcade mode for less enthusiastic sim racers, or even another engine
altogether.
I don't know, I just think that the GPL engine could make Papyrus
money if they had any sense. And marketing would be a problem since
half Sierra's budget is probably spent marketing, that's all companies
do these days.
The realism GPL provides even though I've played the game for months
still shocks me, why let that go to waist? why not build on it?
I think that the tendency is for games - specially motor racing
simulators - to become more and more realistic anyway, I used to think
that F1 97 from psygnosys was realistic, we've come a long way since
GPL, but is this where realistic physics stops for the next few years?
I am just surprised that no other company has produced anything which
comes even close to GPL physics, is it because they have concluded
that it doesn't sell as much?
Enough is enough...
Mauricio.
Anyway.
