He made more $$$$ last year with the no bull money than Zanardi did for
winning  the CART champion ship.  Zanardi left CART because of the danger.
Parker Johnstone left after a wishbone from a crash penetrated his helmet.

If Jeff leaves for another series he is stupid or really bored,  Nascar
might not be the richest racing series but I predict it will be in the next
5 years.

I agree - Jeff Gordon leaving Nascar for open wheel racing would be like the
world's best and richest basketball player quitting to play baseball.  Would
never happen ...

Zanardi left CART because of the danger.

He did? It wasnt because the money?

Are you sure? I think he just couldnt get enough sponser money.
Where did you hear he was leaving Nascar?

Now off topic

There was a issue that Zanardi thinks the superspeedways are dangerous.  The
money and driving a williams helped pulled him to F-1.  I've also heard that
Chip was willing to pay him the same salary but he opted to drive a Williams
and live in Italy.  Jimmy Vasser almost went to BAR with invitation by
Jacque Villenueve.

I don't recall Zanardi leaving CART because of the danger.  I seem to think
it was because he was moving back to F1.

Yeah, that's silly! There's nothing left to win in CART for Zanardi, if
anything
he needs a new challenge. If you saw that guy at Laguna Seca, danger???
Pffff!

Waaaaaay off topic but here goes:

Zanardi left CART because he wanted a new challenge. Money wasn't a real issue
as Target offered him silly money to stay (apparently) and danger isn't it
either considering the way he drove the Reynard the last 2 years.

Parker Johnstone left because he said superspeedways were starting to scare
him and he realised that if he was scared he couldn't do the job properly. As
opposed to changing his mind-set he decided to devote more time to his family.

I totally expect Jeff Gordon to stay where he is until he becomes
uncompetitive or his team does. The only question is whether he'd start his
own team or not at that time or leave NASCAR or even leave racing altogether.

That'll be Ayrton Senna you're thinking of.

And don't forget that he broke his neck in F1, so I doubt he considers it to
be really safe!
