F1RS Do those brakes ever LOCK?

by Uwe Schuerka » Fri, 26 Jun 1998 04:00:00

Hi all,

I've been playing F1RS on and off for a week now at expert level, made sure
all driving aids are set to "off", downloaded some setups (magny-cours, for
example) from those well-known websites, and drove about 100 laps total in
France. My question: My front brakes have never ever locked up, the wheels
haven't stopped turning. I get the occasional cloud of smoke from the rear
tyres when accelerating too hard, but is it possible to lock up the brakes?
I can step on them full power all the way from 320+ to 0km/h, but
no lockup.

I'd be glad if anyone could shed some light on this.

I'm using a T2 with pedals to play F1RS, calibration is ok.

Greetings & thanks for your thoughts,

Uwe

Tell me how did you make this miracle, cause when i'm at 320km/h or over my
brakes lock almost imediately(which i'm sure it is not the reality) and the car
becomes undriveable. That's why i can only drive with abs ,otherwise the game is
unplayable on my system.

Hi, just change your brake setting, 60% front 40% rear for example, or continue
to increase front brake percentage until they do lock !!!!

Bye Coco

Are you driving from the***pit view? If you are in the arcade view you won't
see the wheels stop spinning. From the***pit view, I am always seeing the
front wheels stop turning when i really get on the brakes. I couldn't drive
without knowing when they lock.

If they lock up, you should hear it and see smoke, so you will know in
arcade
view also... ;^)

Yeah, I guess your right. I've never driven but for a few seconds in the arcade
view. Never thought of that. I have someone else's tires in my game now with the
big yellow Goodyear on the side (they look more like CART tires than F1) and
it's easy to tell when they lock. I don't even remember what the stock tires
looked like. If there is no graphics on them, would that be a problem? Just the
lack of being able to see them lock-up?

Easy: Go to configuration and set your brake sensitivy. Man, do I
feel stupid! Duuh! ;-)

Seriously, I now have brake sensitivity at around 80%, and this works
fine with my T2.

Cheers,

Uwe
