NASCAR 2 is due for release sometime in the Fall. There were six
screen shots posted on the web a while back which, it was determined,
were actually mock-ups of what the game should LOOK like. Along with
several other people, I've put them up on my web page, if you want to
see them for yourself. You don't have to, I don't need hits THAT bad.
My URL is http://www.traction.git.net/nrcentral/
Keep in mind their not actual shots from the game, just pre-edited
mock-ups.
Many of the tracks are being overhauled, and three are being
completely redone from the ground up: Phoenix, Talladega, and Dover.
The AI is supposed to be much better, and the car PCXs will actually
be in one big index, rather than separate carsets of 38 cars each.
I've heard there will be a few more panels to paint in the Paintkit
also.
There will be 8-player network support, but if you haven't heard, the
real NASCAR series is stepping in to use the game as a platform for a
multiplayer league called the NRL (NASCAR Racing League). That will
be launched in early 97, a number of months after the expected release
of NASCAR 2.
I'm probably missing a lot; many things have been thrown around in
this newsgroup. Please, somebody jump in if they see anything I
missed (or presumed incorrectly).
