I must agree. I was racing with you tonight (Alfredo Fettucini is my
racing alter ego :-) and that was a total blast!!!! You really must upgrade
your machine Frank . 10-12 fps doesn't do this one justice.

I have an Athlon  1.2 and GF2 GTS 64meg, 512 meg pc 133 and WIN XP pro and
am getting 40-50 constant ---and thats online with 6 people. I also have an
Audigy card and have no sound problems like others have reported

If this is only version 0.4L I can't wait till the full version.

RL?  Whats RL?

The horn is so useful, you can use it to rub in an overtaking move with a
little 'toot toot' as you go by, or you can intimidate the car in front by
honking them just before the braking zone and holding the horn down whilst
you swerve left and right in their mirrors. Causes them to panic and
overshoot the corner :)

Dave,

you have an Audigy soundcard I imagine. seems to be something with the
audigys that loose sound when you click the multiplayer button and the sound
never comes back after that. I am using Win98 ME.  I guess some using Audigy
with XP are ok?

DGF suggested that I try onboard sound.  I disabled the audigy and enabled
onboard sound and I can now hear DGF's damn horn  :-D

Now if only I could get the pedals working correctly.  Both Gas and Brake
are working, but only on my throttle pedal.  Half way down to full down is
gas.  Half way down to all the way off is brake.  it works but cant wait for
split axis.
Using Optical Encoders wont let me combine and use single axis so I hope
they get split axis working soon.

LFS is the cure for the Gene-Rally ***ion and I think the only cure for
LFS will be RL itself!

George

That was the most pure fun I've had in online racing in years. Tight,
intense racing, and the mistakes we made were funny as hell for some reason.
I couldn't quit. :-)

Here I am browsing the newsgroup after a weekend of trekking in the
mountains and find out about a whole new game out. Wow, got to check
it out tonight.

What a damn shame the RAS server is on the other side of the planet! 600ms
is just a tad high for me....plus the fact that you guys are mostly asleep
when I'm playing... : (

There's a few Oz servers springing up though so don't despair fellow
Aussies!

Yep; that was a hoot.  BTCC's  got nothing on LFS/RAS!  Thanks for hosting!
Can't wait to get the sound and split-axis pedals working in this little
sucker.

"Olav Malmin"

Trekking in the Mountains?  Doesn't that mean lots of walking?   Or
worse lots of walking with a bunch of geeks dressed up as Vulcans and
Klingons.   lol!       Hope you had a good weekend Olav.
