TOCA Menu Problem

by DPHI » Sat, 19 Dec 1998 04:00:00

Does anyone have a clue why the menus in TOCA would be scrolling
uncontrollably? The only way I can get it to stop is to turn the wheel full
lock, but then the game will not accept any controller assignments. I can set
it up to drive with a keyboard, but what fun is that with a new Logitech
Formula Force sitting there!

System:
Win98
Logitech WFF
USB port

I've tried this with seperate and combined pedals and with FF on and off. I
have uninstalled and reinstalled the game twice...nothing seems to help.Any
ideas?

I had the same problem with my Thrustmaster formula1.
My solution is to use combined pedals and set the combined as ID1
in the controlpannel

I have the same problem with my Saitek R4 wheel. I've tried to use it in
analogue, single digital and dual digital mode, but nothing helps !

Hi,
I had this problem when my joystick was not calibrated. I now have the
Saitek wheel and don't get this problem on TOCA or CMR. Try setting up the
wheel in Control Panel before launching TOCA.

Thanks Robin, but I've tried that. I've even tried taking out the Logitech
controller and software, rebooting and reinstalling everything...The wheel
works great in all my other sims, except N2 but that's another issue...<g>

What mode to you put your Saitek wheel in ? I have the Saitek R4 ( without
FF ) and I've tried all three modes, with calibrating before firing up TOCA.
Still, the menus scrolls like if Satan was playing in my computer ....

Regards,
Carl

I don't quite understand what mode you mean. But I've had FF on and off (by
mistake) and it seems okay. A couple of times I've done something like run
CMR then calibrated the wheel (buttons actually) then run CMR again. FF
sometimes didn't work. Restarting CMR usually cleared that one up. It may
even have been me messing with the FF button. But I can't say exactly whats
happening. Apart from that the menu has never been a problem.
Have you tried it without anything connected to the game port as though you
were going to use the keyboard. If the menu still scrolls then its "use the
latest drivers" job for your sound card.
Sorry I cant offer any better help.

TOCA Menu Problem

Hi,
Having played with the Seitek and TOCA I have found the following.
If you set the spilt axis setting on "Game controllers" in Control Panel for
the Wheel then the menu cycles. To stop it you have to either turn split
axis off or just put a bit of accelerator on. I haven't found any other
problem.
Hope it helps

With my Logitech wheel I get the scrolling menus with split or combined axis.
I have to turn the wheel full lock left to get the scrolling to stop, but then
it won't accept any steering inputs to the controls menu! ARRGH!!!!!!
