Indycar Racing II online?

  Hello,
Where can I play Indycar Racing II online?  Is there a place where games are
frequent?  Never done any online *** before, except back in the old days
with my buddy on a 2400 baud modem.    (I don't have a juicy enough computer
for GPL yet, that's what I'd really be into!)

Unfortunately, ICR2 does not support online play.  We've been forced to race in
offline leagues.  Wanna join one?

Sounds fun.  My T-2 pedal springs are broken, but I'm pretty good with the
keyboard (just use very little steering lock).   How does this work?  I don't
have long-distance on my phone since it requires about a $100-200 deposit and
phone cards are $20 for 1052 minutes here.  Is that a problem?  I'm interested
in racing the road/street courses, not so much the ovals.

Unfortunately, ICR2 only supports 2 drivers over a serial connection or modem;
therefore, you cannot play "online" with it.  You might be able to run DTR which
allows 10 drivers (linkup software included in game) as well as Nascar3 which has
lots of races online (included with game).

Jason.

This is totally free because, as I said, this if Offline racing.  You run a
race against the AI cars with the set conditions and such, then submit your
results.  Whoever has the best race against the AI wins the league race.  It's
kinda fun.

Stupid question alert:  Isn't it possible to somehow simulate a serial
connection over the Internet?  Maybe with an intermediate computer?

Looks fun.  I bookmarked both links, so may pop in and race.  As the green flag
drops, I dart to the inside, nearly touching wheels with Al Unser Jr...... :-)

An intermediate computer attached to the internet could take the packets
from ICR2 via serial port and retransmit them across the internet as UDP to
a remote intermediate computer which them converts them back to packets for
ICR2.
