"Three assist functions have been built into the game to aid
your driving, making it easier to cope with this kind of racing
game. Those of you familiar with the arcade version of F355
Challenge will recall that these functions can be turned on and
off at will in the intermediate and professional settings. In the
Dreamcast version, however, they can't be disengaged. All the
better, really, as driving an F355 aggressively without all three
would be nearly impossible for all but the most experienced
gamer. The functionality of these driver assists is basic, and all
three are automatically activated only when the car is about to
lose control. They are as follows: "

Sounds bad to me, we can't disable the help functions or i didn't
understand something ????? even in professional mode !!!

Apparently they want to lose a bunch of sales!

What I believe is that they are looking for an excuse to save some money on
translating the software from arcade to DC.

That REALLY sucks... The driver assists are automatically engaged when
the car is about to lose control... unbelievable!

I'm quite disappointed with this. One of the key elements of Ferrari 355 in
the arcade which I found so enjoyable is that it was easy to switch between
the driver assisted controls so easily.

Having the assistance functions activate when the car begins to lose control
in one way or another is no different to having them on permanently.

Any idea if a Dreamcast to PC port is likely?
