Pat,

I run TOCA2 (us version) on a 1.8Ghz Dell notebook running WinXP, no
problems here. I have a GeForce4 with the 28.35 drivers. I also have a MSFF
USB wheel attached. I use no special settings to get it to run, in fact it
the UI does not get screwed up like it used to on my "old" ME based desktop.

Sorry this doesn't help, but just thought I'd let you know TOCA2 works in
XP.

Well at least some people can run it, so there's still hope!

I didn't know there was a US version...

Sold Out have just re-released this in the UK for a fiver - claim it is
XP compatible on the box.

Hi Pat,

I'm getting exactly the same problem with this game on my WinXP
system, with an S3 ProSavage card (on-board).

I would be most grateful if you would post any solution you find, I
will do the same.

FYI I purchased the SoldOut version of the game today for 4.99,
having previously run the downloadable demo version with no problems
at all.

Here's to a solution for us both, I've tasted the game and know how
good it is! :-)

Cheers,

Ade.

Heh, I would guess it's a problem with the S3 Savage then, since we both run
versions of it!

I sent in a tech request on the Codemasters website, and what I got emailed
back what to me looked like an automated response - it's just a duplicate of
the link posted above!

Last week I looked at the S3 website and downloaded the most recent drivers
I could find for my particular card, they were dated July 2000 I think.  My
XP driver was newer, when I tried to install it XP told me I should stay
with the one already there, so I did - I'm not brave enough to try a driver
intended for an earlier OS!  Win2000 I think it was aimed at.

I guess I'll just keep on playing Sports Car GT until TOCA Race Driver comes
out.

Pat.

Pat, when the game was released in the US it was patched up to date. From
the help file:

"The US Version

Please note: The US retail version contains all of the following fixes that
were in the European and Japanese patches. To play network games against
people with the European & Japanese versions they must have the 4.1 patch
installed."

Just a thought, but have you checked out any driver updates available for
your motherboard?  I know the VIA-based chipsets have a new 4-in-1 driver
released the latter part of June, and I this the SiS and Asus systems also
have current releases addressing AGP issues, too.  (Might be incorrect on
the latter, but worth a check.)

Already installed the 4-in-1 based on something further up the thread!
Maybe I should look for others.
