I've noticed something that many people are doing while I was on
Martinsville or Bristol multiplayer servers. You can actually get
faster qualifying times by sliding along the outside wall in the
turns. Don't bother with the apex, just hug the wall all the way
around the turns, but stay off the walls in the front and rear
straights. You'll be busy trying to get a good run off the corner by
hitting the apex correctly and someone will come flying around you on
the right side sliding along the wall. These two tracks need to have
more "grab" or "stickiness" when contact is made with the wall. If you
see someone with a rediculously low qualifying lap time, you know
what's going on.

Yep, known bug.

Now watch how fast people that drive like that will be muzzled and ejected
out of every race and server

You can do this WITH damage on. That's the problem!

This is known as 'rail riding' in GPL and is possible at Monza's Grand
Curve. This sort of thing is 'frowned upon' in the GPL Online Community,
so nobody ever does it.

Just how fast are the rail riders going?

Doing 94.8mph laps in qual the offical way.

I managed a 111mph lap at Marty and at Pocono a 178. It's a problem!

I tried this in my second online race and I'm sure you can ride the wall at
any track. People did it in GPL too but it's pretty rare. With the ability
to kick people, this won't be a common thing.

Yeah, I noticed earlier that I could do that at Darlington. Nice not to get
stuck to the walls anymore, but it certainly does encourage cheating.

Sliding along the wall does slow the car down somewhat.  What Papy
needs to do is increase this friction a bit.  I'm sure they'll come up
with a good fix.

Cool!!!

I always wondered about bolting sets of skateboard wheels on the right side
of a race car and just putting it up against the wall in the corners and
putting the hammer down!!  Looks like the guys at Papy had the same idea!!!

I guess I'll need to paint my cars to show the wheels now...  LOL!!
