every screen shot I take comes out in 256 colors.  can someone give help on
how to get image with better graphics.

    The only way it'll get better is with the 3DFX patch.  Then you add
the -3dfx to the command line for the .exe and you'll get a .tga file
(editable in PaintShop) that'll have a higher color count.
