Attention Ubisoft... this is how a F1 sim should sound.

BRM 1953.... just crank up that volume and listen in awe ;)

Expecting a '53 BRM and a '99 Ferrari to have the same sound?
Uff!

OTOH, the sound in the F1RC demo is a disgrace...
or, back to optimistic thinking, just a place holder!

At least in one of the videos I saw, the sound had a
lot more meat. (get it? meat!)

> Great sound, but it sounds -nothing- like a modern F1.

Are you saying the Mclaren Mercedes Ilmor revving at 18k per second
"SOUNDS" like an engine?

I am playing it through Winamp right now, set to endless repeat. It sounds
like it is running laps behind my two speakers.

That sounds great! Now, what are the chances of turning that into a wav
file and putting it into GPL?

Hi !
I think it's from Nick Mason's and Mark Hales's book "Into The
Red"!
The book comes with a CD recording of some of Nick Mason's
classic cars, including Porsche 962, Ferrari 250 GTO, and an
the incredible 16 cylinder BRM.
The book is shit, but buy it for the CD!!

Greetings

The BRM sound by Patrick Daly is the very same engine. Just don't except it
to sound like this in GPL - it is impossible!

I've got 10" base, three way stereo speakers four feet away, powered
by a 40watt Luxman amp. I break into a big grin every time I play it.
Truly beautiful music. The BRM has always been my favorite engine
sound in gpl. But is it correct that this recording is from a 1953
motor ?

I've got the book "Into the Red" from which the sound comes and have
recorded the lot into MP3. If anyone want's me too I could post the Full MP3
on the binaries group. The BRMV16 track has two full laps of Donnigton
recorded from the pits and lap incar (from which Patrick Daly got the sound
for GPL). The 250 GTO and Daytona also sound fantastic.

The book is actually quite good and has some nice pictures. I got mine in a
book sale for only 5.

It's the BRM V-16, not the H-16 dual boxer. A supercharged 1.5liter
beast that was capable of over 600hp at about 12000rpm(!!) if it
weren't for the carbs that held it back to "only" ~530. All that in a
narrow-wheeled early-fifties car... Now if you thought GPL was hard to
drive... :-)
