This is completely untrue. GP2.COM is alive and well. You should be
able to get it now OK. It was at a temp site for a short while but its
OK now on its domain name.
This is a subjective opinion at best ( and a case of petty
dis-information at worse). IMO its blatantly untrue. Both sites have
many things in common, as you might expect, but GP2.COM has some first
class stuff that grandprix2.ga-sports.com does not have, and
visa/versa. I have no problem with there being two first class sources
for GP2 material on the web. Pieter's involvement in
grandprix2.ga-sports.com is well know and he's entitled to his
non-neutral viewpoints. While its right to be proud of your own
achievments IMO its not necessary to make erroneous statments about
anothers' achievments. It doesn't do ones' good name any credit.
My expierence is that most times whenever a given file can be found on
GP2.COM you're much more likely to download it without over-clogged
sever problems - very common with grandprix2.ga-sports.com and its
former address. I'm aware grandprix2.ga-sports.com is currently
attempting to address thier sever problems and good luck to them. (
IMHO they need to mirror their site - a couple of times over - but of
course this amounts to more work ).
GP2.COM and http://grandprix2.ga-sports.com are BOTH excellent GP2
sites. All of us GP2 fans are the better for them. I don't feel its
warranted, desirable, or palatable for any fan site to issue
mis-information about another, with the apparent view of boosting
their own hit counts. I think its best to be silent in this area and
let the quality of your site stand on its own merits while allowing
others to be the judge.
Pieter's made many great car sets and his work on
http://grandprix2.ga-sports.com and its previous address were/are
outstanding and much appreciated. But to be fair there are in fact
other top rate GP2 sites whose producers also do a great job, GP2.COM
not being the least.
Any GP2 fan who hasn't checked out GP2.COM ought to do so and do
yourself a favour.
And BTW, I have absolutely no connection with either site
what-so-ever, just a Gp2 fan who appreciates any good site on its own
merits.
Best Regards to ALL
