Home made Racing sim - Update.

Ashley McConnell has just sent us part 2 of his ongoing article tracking the
progress of his home made simulation. The car is now on a track.

Here: www.simbin.com

If anyone can help with feedback and bug testing, it's very much
appreciated.

Happy Racing!

The Demo is a little behind the screenshots, I will hopefully upload a
new version some time this weekend.

Does anyone know an updated email address for Bobonen?

All the best,
Ash

Home made Racing sim - Update.

Just downloaded it, but it wont run and asks for D3D8.DLL (which
after a quick search on the net appears to be part of Directx8).

Since I'm running DirectX 7.something, are there any issues
upgrading to version 8?   I seem to recall some people having
problems with it and GPL...

cheers.

I'm sure some people have had problems, but not me: AMD 1.3, GF2 Ultra,
latest drivers. GPL has worked fine for me with every revision of DX that
has come out so far (crosses fingers).

Make sure you got the official, released version off the Microsoft site:
http://www.microsoft.com/directx/
Some folks have downloaded developer versions, etc., and seem to have posted
them as 8.1a or something.  They don't really exist, aren't for our use and
will mess with your game play.
