1976 season ---------------------------------

I read about a week or so ago that someone had read/heard/gotten
info about the fact that development was underway on GPL2 which was
about the year 1976.

I think that will be quite a sim, as by then the ground effects were
coming on their way, and more power and engineering were making GREAT
strides, as opposed to 1967 where the cars were prety much
"home-built" one-offs.

I would like to know if that is actually true.

Also --------------- while we are talking about it -------- why not
go a few more years in the calendars and go to the years where the
TURBO cars were the norm in FORMULA  ONE and there was a mention that
most were nearly one thousand horsepower on tap!

THAT -------------------- would be interesting as well!!

Well, the Nurburgring was still on the calendar in 1976... That's when
Lauda had his crash.
As for ground effects, they didn't come along until 1978, when they were
used with the Lotus 79.

Cheers!

Imho it should have been '74 (or at least '75), because the Nrnburgring
was still included!
I'd like to take that ground effect to the ring :-)

Right, at Bergwerk if I remember right

But there was some downforce from the spoilers, so I think it would be
very different from the situation in GPL.
