Flame me all you want

I won't be returning to this newsgroup anyway.

No reason to ----------------- GPL has been the major part of its
reason for existance for at least the past nine months, and now I have
deleted the entire sim from my computer

Think what you want, and appease the powers that be if you wish
----------- but I learned a long time ago, that when something isn't
right from the factory, you ask for it to be MADE right.

We have been getting reassurances for months that the PATCH will be
great and all will be well.

Well, it isn't.  It is far worse than it was before they started
fiddling with it.

Rather than listening to people who were on the right track in getting
the various adjustments worked out, they merely changed the entire
rules of their little game and put everyone back to square one.

Sheez, I don't understand that move one bit.

Good luck Joachim ----- I sincerely hope you, and everyone else gets
that thing to work.

Meantime, I have several projects that will be keeping me busy, and
this is as god a time as any to put GPL back in the box, and
concentrate on work

I agree with you to an extent. On the other hand I can't remember any
game I ever that I just had to install it and it would run flawlessly.
At the end of the day as far as my experience goes, GPL has probably
been the only game that it actually works for hours on end. Of course
I did and still do have a few problems here and there, but I managed
to work around them one way or another.
But I must say, you don't sound like someone who's been able to get
much joy out of GPL, specially after the patch. The patch is not what
we all expected - patches never are anyway-, but the FF effect is
definitely the best in the market, and it sets the standards
hopefully. Apart from that though, I wouldn't have the patch installed
as it does create new problems to deal with.
Good luck finding a replacement sim for your enjoyment.

No no Graeme, that's not right. It's:

Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out.

Got it? ;-)
