All I can suggest is that you alter your set-up for a short race so you
lose less fuel. Try making the car lighter at the back so it oversteers
a little. During a longer race try altering your strategy so any
compromise you make on setup you can get back on coming in a bit later
than normal. For example, if you do two stops on a 100% race at Monaco
you would stop after 33% and perhaps 66%/67% of the distance. Try
altering that so you have more fuel at the begining and don't lose out
after your last stop. Say 40%, 75%. You would be making the best use
of your setup this way and have a shorter stop nearer the end when
getting out the pits quickly could be vital.
Also, GP2 asks you to press your button to confirm the amount of stops
left. Try ensuring you add a little more fuel before you leave the
pits. I'm no Benetton Pit Strategy theorist but just try to mess about
with your setup and pit strategy to find what works for you as a driver.
If you aren't making any stops you could get yourself on pole and then
lead, but drive really slowly to conserve fuel and tyres for later use
in the race.
