Looks nice, but the deeply grained tar strips are going to be a bit
repetitive at speed, I think.  You could get away with the level of
repetitiveness evident in the shot when the repeating item was fairly faint
(e.g., in N3), but I guess we'll have to wait to see it in action.  I was
hoping for a more varied track texture capability in N4.

Marc.

Maybe true, but they are realistic. Look at a real picture of Talladega and
you will see the "repetitive" tar stripes.

Good eye man!  I didn't notice that before.  I suspect Papy didn't think we would
either...

The real tar strips do not repeat down to every last squiggle the way these
do.  When they are so detailed and so distinctive, is it much easier to see
the repetition.  It's not a huge deal, but it is definitely not realistic,
either.

well it's more realistic then if they weren't there!

My bad. I stand corrected.

I always seem to miss these kinds of things. Good eye Marc!

Papyrus needs to create a fractal system for cracks at Talladega.  If they
don't I WON'T BUY N4.  Actually a fractal system would benefit for many
things in computer games.  Trees, road textures, grass textures, sky, etc..

What's a fractal system?
