DTR framerate?

DTR framerate?

Hey does this game take some hardware or what.  I have a P2 450 with 128
megs, V3 3000 and this demo really needs every bit of it to get the
framerate going.  I found I needed to turn down graphic options and lower
cars to get it smooth and even then it hiccups once in a while.
I was having a blast racing with just one other car and putting the AI at
52.  Very even races where it could go either way.  I was just using default
setup.

It should give you very hige framerates considering the low detail of the
sim. I haven't played the demo that long but the framerate was perfect. And
all I own is a TNT1.

I think you've got something else going on there BigB.
I have a P2400 with 128meg and a V2 and TNT1.
Nothing I did option-wise, including running 1024x768 on the TNT  with
max cars (15?) substantially impacted the frame rate.
Same with the V2, but the res on that is capped at 800x600.

This is pretty subjective, since I haven't even noticed if there was a
frame rate counter. The game is liquid smooth, so it must be staying
near or above 30fps.

The only thing I didn't try was 32 bit color on the TNT.

No framerate problems here with everything cranked up to the max on my
PII-300, 64 MB RAM, Viper V550 TNT card and Logitech Wingman Formula Force
USB wheel.  Smooth as silk at 1280 x 1024 with 32 bit colour.

do you have the newest drivers for you VooDoo? I've heard of some others
with the same problem. Possibly the new dirextX 7.0 drivers will help if
you're willing to install directX 7.
btw. I'm running a PII 400 128MB and just a banshee and still getting good
rates.

Then in that case you appear to have a problem somewhere.
I'm using a Celeron PII oc to 450, 128M RAM, 16M V3 card and this things
runs as smoooooth as silk with ALL graphics, ALL cars, in 1024 x 768 without
a stutter.

Bruce, I figured it out.  The original driver update with supposed drivers
was bad.  I got the correct one and hopefully all will be right with the
world.

Hey I know there's loads of replies but just to prove the point - my system
is a P1 233 with 32 megs and a voodoo1 and I get pretty high framerates
(high 20s I'd guesstimate) with 9 AIs all the time except the start....
definitely something up with your system.

I have the same setup with twice the memory.  I shut off the FF and it
smoothed right out. (kinda like SCGT)
