This is a topic I know nothing about. What exactly do I need to run this
version, and is it worth it?

You need a system with a PCI (2.1-compliant) bus, and one of the four
Rendition Verite chipset video cards available.  This video card
completely replaces your existing video card, and costs between $150
and $300.

Is it worth it?  That's up to you.  If you play IndyCar2 and/or
Nascar2 A LOT, then run out and get one of these cards (I'd recommend
the Intergraph Intense 3D).  There's better 3D card technology
available (3dFx Voodoo) and the it's running neck-and-neck with
Rendition's chipset in terms of popularity.
