Yes I've tried this. It may be cheap, but as always, you get what you
pay for. TrackIR, with it's enhanced mode, is light years ahead.

Are any of these really worth it without using 3D glasses?  Also, is there a
significant CPU hit?

Alan

No, 3D glasses aren't required, but they do add immensely to the
immersion IMO. Don't worry about CPU hit, I ran IL2 at 1280x1024 with
TrackIR on my old AMD 1.1 without any hint of a slow down.

I figured it might be kind of awkward turning your head while having the
physical view (the monitor) remain in one place.  Anyway, this just what I
need... another excuse to spend money.  :) Thanks for the info!
