Hi folks,

welcome to a new RAS contest: the TOFU RACE! Below you'll find
the current standings, to be updated on a weekly basis. I might
even set up a TofuRank, judging by the huge success that
GPLRank has been ;-)

Enjoy

TOP TOFUS of rec.autos.simulators

Analyzed 1152 articles posted up to 2002-11-22 (7 days total).

The first column shows the total kilobytes of quoted text found
in posts by the author (last column). The second column
contains the "noise index", which I define as the ratio of
genuine new material to old, quoted text found in the postings.
The third column contains the total number of articles posted
by the author.

The fourth column shows us the percentage of new material to
stuff that was simply quoted from older messages.

To improve your spot in the rankings or ideally, get out the
top 10 altogether, please consult the following URL:

Nice one Jim, well done! ;-) To dave Henrie: Hey Dave, the noise
isn't about answering the same old questions (which is good
IMHO) again and again (what would newbies do, for instance?),
but about the common sense courtesy of quoting the postings one
is replying to, answering at the bottom of the post and so on.
Just good old common sense usenet netiquette ;-)

Jim, we discussed setting up a car database for Racer the other
year. Would you still be interested in helping out in this
project?

Cheers,

Uwe

Hey Larry, this is all in good spirit. Perl is such a powerful
language when it comes to text parsing that it took me an hour
or so to write the script.

Thanks Eldred. ;-> I'm still trying to figure out if this
statement is a compliment or an insult ;-)  Anyway, thanks for
reminding me of this weeks TOFU rankings. Please find the
latest update below. I wonder what happened to Mr. Grandy... ;-)

Your discussions are usually...well, very 'interesting'...<g>  I can't say that
I can FOLLOW most of the stuff that you and Todd throw back and forth, though.

Uwe, not to displaude your efforts (which I find amusing), but don't you
think using a (typical <g>) German acronym like TOFU (Text Oben, Fullquote
Unten) is just a tad obscure?

Ah, thanks Jan.  I was wondering about that.  Figured it might be
something like "Tuetonic Order of ***edup Usenetters, since I made the list
<g>

And if I EVER see my name posted with the word "Tofu" again, there'll be
