GPL too dark--help

I bought a new computer with Voodoo 3 (before I had Voodoo 2).  Now GPL is so
dark I can't see what gear I'm in or where the groove is on a lot of the
tracks.  I have the 3DFX gamma set as high as it will go.  The monitor
brightness is all the way up.  I have the latest drivers and DX7.

Is the a glide file issue?

Anybody know?

Have you tried glide 2.53?

Unfortunately, I'm the one whole started that thread, and nothing suggested
worked.  

I tried glide 2.53, but that prevents me from using 3DFX, and only permits
software mode.  I tried the Open GL beta patch, but that doesn't work either.

Help!!!!
