Okay i've just been playing around with the sound.cat file and found all those cool pit radio messages........

except i never get them , i checked around and 2 of my mates don't get them either...

so that is three machines all different, different sound cards etc not getting all the sound effects...is this a bug or was it
never implemented?

No, it's not a bug, it simply already is in the game, but disabled for whatever reason (probably a
commercial one). The same is done with real track-bumpiness (wich for whatever reason got enabled
in my GP2 for a short moment while I was trying to get the best pc-setup) and probably rain too.
What system you have doesn't enable or disable anything. Though....When going from 8 MB RAM to
16 MB, while in the pits you get crowd-sounds and the sounds of cars passing the pits
 (note: it's only the sound of a passing car, the heard car passing really is somewhere else on the
        track, if it's really out at all. Driving a linkgame in practice, we could hear two cars
        passing while only one of us was out on the track)
