Yep, I've been all for an Amiga version since they were still working
on the PC version. Back then, John Wheeler said they "fully expect an
Amiga version to follow in short order." Well, it hasn't.
If they made it only for AGA Amigas, I'd probably buy an AGA Amiga.
But there's no real need for fancy schmancy memory-eating, framerate-slowing
graphics. Nice fast graphics like I500 had is just fine. Look at
Fighter Duel Pro 2. No terrain or any of that nonsense -- just fast,
high-resolution air combat with the most realistic flight model there is
for any home flight simulation.
The main problem Papyrus would face is that, to make ICR excellent as
opposed to really good, they'd probably require a minimum of 2MB or
more, and maybe 1MB of chip, and perhaps a faster processor. This would
be a first in the Amiga market. No one has been willing to make that
move, which is why Amiga games no longer are superior to those on PCs.
We can't keep insisting that Amiga software be compatible with a stock
Amiga 1000 (which I happen to use, alas), which is nearing 10 years of age.
