This is the main problem with Micro$oft.  They release half-baked
bug-ridden software, to beat other companies to market with a product,
or to beat a specific relase date (like Pre-Christmas) then they try
to finish writing the code and finishing the product with Service
Packs and patches..

This has been the case with EVERY Windows release to date, as well as
Microsoft Flight Simulator, MS Office, etc.  The general public is
Micro$oft's primary Beta Test site ;(

IMO, this is unacceptable.  They need to focus on writing the code,
then thoroughly testing it BEFORE the release date.  Not wait for
everybody that buys it to beta test it.

I hate to defend Micro$oft but there's no way in hell you can make a
broad statement like this.  Did you try X-Car by Bethesda?  ICR2 by
Papyrus?  Battlecruiser?  Anything by EA?

And show me a company that *doesn't* rush out software (half baked or
otherwise) in time for Xmas.  Go look at the New Releases section at
your local software store right now.

At least M$ actually comes out with patches and SP's.

Here's a test:  Go turn on yellow flags and damage in ICR2.  Try to win
a 100% distance race.  Now go play a modem game in Grand Prix 2. Try to
keep the Processor Occupancy below 100%.  Now go to EA's website.  Look
for a patch for any of the well documented gameplay bugs in any of their
NHL series of (5) games.  BZZZZT!  You lose...no patches.

Right now it's just too easy (and fashionable) to be anti-Microsoft.  I
don't like them any better than the next guy (actually, I probably hate
them as much as the next guy), but fair is fair.  They *DO* patch.

.....A lot of other good stuff deleted for brevity.

I would like to add:

Registration cards that go to the Marketing Department vice the
Support Department.

Software licenses that tell you that you really don't own the product
and if it doesn't live up to the hype, don't call us.

To get back to the real topic....  CPR is nothing more than TRI's
opinion of how driving a CART car would feel.  I agree with you that
it's great that folks from the software company at least come here and
listen to our opinions as well as defend their own.  It shows that
they have some pride in their product and that for me was enough to
tip the balance in favor of purchasing the product after reading the
numerous comments and reviews.  It's a good sim as it stands right
now.  It will be a better sim once the patches and editors hit the
streets.  If the promises of downloadable updates during the season
appear, then I feel that it will be head and shoulders above anything
out there or soon to be.  But then again, this is only my opinion....

I'm just curious why you think that.....It'd be nice to know exactly WHY you
think it stinks.  I've put down valid reasons why I like the game, so why
don't you give us a list of reasons why it sucks?
