GP2 Enhanced?

GP2 Enhanced?

Racers,
In the new winter J & R Music/Computer World catalog they list GP2
and say " ...., enhanced with texture mapping and light sourcing. CD for
DOS." Has anyone heard or seen of an enhanced version of this title? Are
they just using an advertising blerb? To me when someone says 'enhanced'
it means as compared to the original. What's up with this, I thought
Microprose lost the license and was going to pull all the copies after
12/97. Can any of you fellow racers shed any light on this subject?
    All the best, Mike Davis

GP2 Enhanced?

There is not an enhanced version of GP2.  The text you saw referred to
GP1 (World Circuit).  I remember the adverti***t from spring 1996
telling us GP2 would be enhanced with texture mapping and light sourcing.
GP2 was released in July 1996.  I guess Microprose considers GP2
to be an enhanced version of GP1.  :-)

If you are looking for enhanced versions of GP2 you should look at
different GP2 Internet sites and look for patches, cars, utilities etc.
made by different GP2 users.

I would recommend you start with this GP2 site:
http://www.racesimcentral.net/;  (Pieters GP2 page)

This WEB page has already made the patch to include the 1998
cars to GP2.
