Securing a T1?

I got a sheet of plastic - simple 1/8" plexiglass wide enough for the T1
and deep enough that it slides under my system unit.  Then I moistened
the suction cups and stuck it to the plexiglass.  The two are then basically
joined permanently.  When i race I just shove the end of it under the system
unit (this one's a desktop) and go.  It "uninstalls" in about 10 seconds.
You may want to sand down the corners of the plexiglass, as they can be sharp.

It cost me about $5.

Securing a T1?

by David A. Byerm » Sun, 10 Mar 1996 04:00:00

A question for all you folks out there with a T1 wheel.  I have a very
nice desk in my office, and don't want to mess it up with velcro, suction
cup marks, etc.  I've tried buying one of those plastic mats under which
some put business cards and stuff, but they get all wrinkly quickly and
lose all adherence to the desk.  Is there any good solution to how to
securely (and temporarily) affix the wheel to the desk?

I have a little "tray" wider than the t1 unit.  I use the velcro on the
tray and the bottom of the T1.  I hold the tray to the desk top with
spring clamps.
