Help with T1 in MSDOS mode

by Darr » Sun, 23 Feb 1997 04:00:00

Hello everyone,

I am having a problem using the Thrustmaster T1 in the MS-DOS mode of
NASCAR2.  It works fine in Windows, but when I run the game in dos I can
only use the keyboard.

I'm sure this is easily fixed, but I'm still learning here.  Thanks for
any help!

Sounds like your T1 is connected to a soundcard that needs to have the
joystick port enabled by a software switch when you load the DOS
drivers.  Check your soundcard manual and see if it refers to one or
post info on your soundcard and the lines in your config.sys &
autoexec.bat that you are using.

I didn't get a manual for the soundcard with my new system.  It is
running a Creative Labs 32 AWE PNP card.  I've loaded the driver for it
in the startup files, and the sound works, but no joystick.  Here are the
config.sys and autoexec.bat files:

config.sys

DOS=HIGH,UMB
Device=C:\WINDOWS\Himem.Sys
DEVICE=C:\TEAC\TEAC_CDI.SYS /D:MSCD001

autoexec.bat

SET TMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP
SET TEMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP
SET PROMPT=$p$g
SET winbootdir=C:\WINDOWS
SET PATH=C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND
C:\windows\command\mscdex.exe /D:MSCD001
C:\mouse.exe
SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 H5 P330 E620 T6
C:\WINDOWS\CTCM

Thanks again for any help that anyone can offer!
