BT Wireplay - ICR2/Nascar/F1GP 1&2 Support?

by Jamie O'Shaughnes » Thu, 18 Apr 1996 04:00:00

I just got my BT Wireplay info and CD through yesterday. It's a bit
disappointing that it only supports a few "null modem" type games at the moment,
but the IPX support looks the business.

Has anyone heard anything about Wireplay supporting ICR2/Nascar/F1GP (in null
modem mode)? By the sound of it, it should work OK.

What about network versions of ICR2/Nascar/F1GP2? I've heard that F1GP2 will NOT
have network support in the initial release, and they may do it in a future
patch/add on disk. If Wireplay takes off in the UK (and I think it will) then I
reckon that a network F1GP2 will come out (in a decade or so!!!).

What about the Papyrus games? I've heard mention of some Pap. Network or
something. Does anyone know if they'll be doing a IPX network version(s) or
better still a Wireplay specific version? (Hell, they keep writing crappy
versions to support no hoper pseudo 3D cards like the Diamond (over the)Edge).

Have you managed to connect to WP yet ? I tried on Sunday and just got
"invalid nickname" messages. After phoning BT I tried again last night
but this time I go "invalid password" messages. I typed my nickname
and password in very precisely as printed on the letter I got with the
CD. Oh well, I suppose they're still sorting out the teething
troubles. Other than that it looks promising.

What's your nickname , I'll keep a look out for you when I eventually
get online. Mine's Jezababes.
