Unable to initialize video (maybe no VESA driver?)

I did run the patch to bring the version from 1.0 to 1.3

any help would be appreciated

Had the same thing happen to me when I updated the BIOS for my Matrox
Millennium G200. Went back to the old BIOS and all was well.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I have heard that it is
impossible to use N2 on a Revolution 3D due to the way that it handles
the VESA calls.

Try to uninstall N2, and reinstall it with the Sierra Utilities..

When it's asked about installing Vesa, don't do it.  I had that problem, but
that's how it fixed it.

me again,

yup, you were right ( how could I doubt you :))

from the Number Nine knowledgebase I found the following

The Revolution3D is VESA 2.0 compliant however the manufacturers of
Nascar2 have not made their game to be supported with boards that have
VESA 2.0 support in hardware (i.e. the BIOS).  The game is only
supported when using VBE (software VESA 2.0 support).  We have notified
them of this problem and suggest that you contact them and request a
solution.

guess I'll give it one more try, arg!!!!!
