Being that I do not own NFS1 or SE I really have nothing to compare this
game to. The first thing I noticed was that the cars seemed to have a
twitchy feel with my GP1. I'd barely turn the wheel and I would be in the
wall! After viewing the readme file I found a utility that would help with
the steering sensitivity with driving wheels. I ran the utility (some kinda
calibration tool) and the game became driveable. The Tracks seem very
arcade-like, I was hoping for some highways and back country roads, but
instead  the game offers Monster Truck Madness type of courses. Driving on
snow packed roads in a Mclaren F1?? , I don't think so!!! The graphics
engine is very smooth(does this game support D3D?) on my OSR2 P133(2x75)
w/Intergraph Intense 3d 100 with latest BIOS and drivers and 64 megs of
SDRAM!! I am running the game with its default settings BTW. The only car
in the game that is actually responsive to your inputs is the Lotus GT1,
the others(except maybe the Mclaren) feel very big. this of course is fine
and dandy because these are big cars. There are two levels of game play
Simulation and Arcade. Both pretty much feel the same, except sim mode
makes the cars more sensitive to your inputs. Questions:Why can't I have
damage? Blown engines? ETC...? I thought this game was to be more sim like
than NFSSE & NFS1?? Why can't we have the cars/tracks from the original?
Anyway the game is fun to play but it also seems very shallow in game play
because there really is not much to do. The bios on the cars, the screen
shots and videos are really nice but that has nothing to do with game play!
I hope EA listens to some of the posts in here for some ideas on what might
be a great game but of course it will be a 50.00 upgrade called Need for
Speed 2 SE!! Hell a track pack would be nice! BTW since most of these cars
are concept, why can't I fiddle with them some more! You know change
engines, suspension settings, rims and tires, etc... Oh wait that's Xcar,
sorry!!

Take care and sorry for the long post

BTW  If the games is using the latest in "***" automobiles, then why in
the world is the Lotus espirit v8 in this game? If this car is in here I
want my 911 turbo, damn it!!!
