I never understood the hype "I don't believe how good his/her setup was"...
A setup isn't excellent in the absolute sense. It depends on driver, driving
technique, track, length of race, race tactics...
I have always made my own setups, and this is a skill that is a part of the
enjoyment in my view, at least when the setup changes are reflected so nicely as
they are in GPL!!!
Sometimes, it can be useful to get some input on how you are doing on a track,
if you have got the general idea of what springs and ARBs to use all wrong.
I think that setup and driving technique is interdependant. The driving
technique "colours" the setup, and vice versa.
Setting up a race car is a very nice process, where the distance between car and
driver decreases all the time. Close to racing, simply. :-)
