Hi,
Found this interesting article on avault:

http://www.racesimcentral.net/

I wonder how much a good GPL setup would go for on eBay? :)  Luckily there
are some good GPL setups on-line that can be downloaded for free.  But
after reading this, people will probably remove them and put them on eBay!
Gee... Maybe I shouldn't post this! :)

Later,
John

Go do a search on Ebay for Everquest characters,
you will find 50+ listed

Squat.... GPL is complex enough to suit the car to your personal style...
there is therefore no one best setup for a certain car/track combination and
so, however fast person A is, his setup is more than likely worthless to
person B.

Hopefully, Dave Noonan won't see this.  Just think how much he could get for
the O-Ring.

Agreed!

I never understood the hype "I don't believe how good his/her setup was"...

A setup isn't excellent in the absolute sense. It depends on driver, driving
technique, track, length of race, race tactics...

I have always made my own setups, and this is a skill that is a part of the
enjoyment in my view, at least when the setup changes are reflected so nicely as
they are in GPL!!!

Sometimes, it can be useful to get some input on how you are doing on a track,
if you have got the general idea of what springs and ARBs to use all wrong.

I think that setup and driving technique is interdependant. The driving
technique "colours" the setup, and vice versa.

Setting up a race car is a very nice process, where the distance between car and
driver decreases all the time. Close to racing, simply. :-)

Hehe, well in that case my setups must be no good to anyone.  Everytime
I've downloaded one of the hotshoe setups from the net I've been able to
improve my PBs, which had been set after 100s of laps on each circuit
with my own setup, within 5 or 6 laps and I'm not slow either.  So far
setups for 3 tracks have been d/l:

Monza where I just couldn't get under 1:28 and I'm now down to 1:27.77

Today I d/l Rouen setups and improved from 1:57.0 to 1:56.54 on the 4th
lap whilst still getting the hang of the new setup.

Kyalami where I couldn't get under 1:20 with my setup and immediately
went under this with the new setup and am now down to 1:19.43 :)

Surely there's a trend here. :)
