NASCAR & CART on TV

NASCAR & CART on TV

Hiya Thomas.. as a viewer of 'British eurosport' I felt I
had to add my 2 cents worth.
Never in a million years will I support a petition to Eurosport....  they
have no apparent interest in promoting american racing series in any way
other than as pub-tv. They have consistantly failed to meet schedule times
and show scant regard for their viewers in keeping them informed about such
time changes.
This may sound a bit off the wall, but since the start
of this year I have stopped relying on their sense of time entirely. Thank
goodness Sky Sports have started showing Nascar, Busch and the IRL. This
kinda makes it unlikely that Sky are gonna show CART 'cos of the politics.A
shame, since these guys seem to KNOW how to do a motorsports broadcast
properly, compared with the boys in Paris.
Rather than urging Eurosport , you should be petitioning
CART  to get them to reallocate the rights to a european broadcaster who can
do the job properly rather than the half- hearted  'semi-live' fiasco their
coverage has become in the uk.
                                                Phew! Otherwise a good plan
:-)

I get your point. The problem is that I'm in a sort of locked position. In
my area, satelite dishes are a no-no, and my tv-provider doesn't carry Sky
Sports... bummer... Looks like I stuck with Eurosport.
It's funny though. When ES were showing CART races live I never experienced
any time schedule problems. Maybe it's a BEurosport prob only?!
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to comment on my post!

NASCAR & CART on TV

I would agree with you up to a point.. yes it is extremely annoying when
the schedules are changed but at least British Eurosport are offering full
coverage. Ordinary Eurosport are just showing highlights packages a few
days after the event.
Alternatively in the UK Channel 5 show the whole race around 2am on a
Tuesday morning. Of course it's not ideal but certainly preferable to what
we had not so long ago... basically nothing more than brief highlights of
the Indy 500 and then highlights of the season when Mansell was over there.

I have found the Eurosport schedules on the website to be the best way to
go when planning any viewing of the channel, the TV magazines, papers and
teletext are far too often out of date.

I for one have signed the petition and passed on the url to get some
friends (even though they aare not into motorsports particularly) so that
they could do likewise.

Peter Hooper
