You have plenty cpu to satisfy the wheel. For me it was noticable on a

have now. Must say this is with the game port version of the MSFF. From what
I have read here, the USB version will use more cpu cycles for the FF
effects than the game port version.

This was on a P3-450 at the time.  I also got the same thing on a second PC,
and then when PC World tested it in the shop they got the same thing as
well.  The slow down was only apparent really at race starts with full grid.
It cost about 30% frame-rate, which was totally unacceptable.  Also happened
in Sports Car GT.

Like you say, on an Athlon 1.3 the CPU has cycles spare after GPL has done
so it doesn't show I guess.
