I still want this car... but I'd also like a Lotus Elise too :)  Too bad
they aren't street legal.

I wonder if I could get some specs and the building manual for the
Caterham... a scale RC model would be fun.

Not sure what country you're in, but over here in Blighty they're legal, or
can be made so with parts from Caterham if you've bought a track version.
And have you seen the size of these things, couldn't scale it down much more
let alone make it RC ;o)

The Elise is a road car, as are most Caterhams.  You can get them on the
road in the US too.  Where are you?

Ask them.  You can buy build manuals.  You can also buy build manuals for
most kit cars.

I'm in the U.S... At the Lotus website, all the Elise stuff I saw said
"track only", and I was talking to a guy on an internet forum who is on the
list to get an Elise, and he said the Sport 190 wasn't street legal... I
guess it's just the Sport 190 then?
I'm too tall for an Elise anyway :(

I want a Taurus Station Wagon.

Yes, I know that's pathetic, but the dogs are demanding and my Taurus Sedan
doesn't make them happy :)

What I REALLY want is the Mercedes/AMG.  The new one.  AMG-55 or something
like that.  But unless one of the Golden's can also start poopin' golden
bricks, it ain't gonna happen :)

I can understand that, but is my car insured for damage  (sp?) when I
wreck it on the Ring? I have an all risk insurance. I allways had a
car from my company, but now I have my own car, and suddenly I find
this insurance thingy very important :)

It's a public road,
a 100 kph speed-limit applies (no joke)
Also, I once encountered a police speed trap somewhere at Adenauer Forst.

And *NO*, I'm not drunk and not on ***.

BTW: Insurances also don't pay for accidents under race-like conditions, so they
will assume that you were running your vehicle a bit aehm... pushy...

Honest Mr. Insurance man...we were re-tracing the historical Battle of the
Buldge route and got lost on some 'Northern' road...we didn't know it was a
racetrack....
