Rally Championship (Europress) : Initial Review

The nice chaps at Europress (www.europress.co.uk) have sent me a demo
version of the new RAC Rally game.

First things first - good intro, nice fmv link sequences, good sound and
music. Car setup includes brake bias, gear ratios, suspension height,
tyre choice... Will run in VGA and SVGA and with 3 screen sizes.

On my P90 I had to run in low-res, with a 'near' vanishing point and
with no rear-view. The in-car view (full screen mode) gave <10fps
estimated. The only way to get a smooth game was to use the external
view and the smallest window (about 1/3 screen size)

Handling was strange. Good in a straight line but didn't seam to stear
around corners as such. Driving is like in NFS where if you go off-track
the car just slows. You can drive the wrong way. You can flip (switches
to outside view).

thats all for now...

Hi Rob,

About time a rally game (a real one) showed up. When is the
expected release date? Or can I buy the prototype off you?
