F1GP - just got v1.5. Joystick is dead. HELP!

by Christian Jahnse » Tue, 08 Aug 1995 04:00:00

Hi fellow F1GP racers.

In the hope of using all those fab editors and patches, I just upgraded to
F1GP v1.5. It appears to work allright, except for one thing. When I choose to
calibrate my stick (a CH-Flightstick), it starts up with the axis-values of
001-003. Normally they would start up between 200 and 300. When I try to move
my stick, it hardly senses my movement, the values change maybe 1 or 2 counts.
This is a ridiculous joystick-range, and of course the game rejects it.
I then try the old version (1.0 I think), and the stick works as normal.

PLEASE help me. I can imagine others having the same problems when they
upgraded.

E-mail preferred, but postings are ok.

Thanks in advance for helping out a man in distress.

I had the same problem. You probably use the European Version and
the manual protection patch ?? The patch works only with the
US-Version (World Circuit). Either you don't patch your gp.exe
or use World Circuit.

Just to muddy the waters, I've used the "Monza" crack on all three
versions (Euro, Italian. US (WC)) without problems. I guess there's
something more sinister going on...

The Monza crack works fine on all versions. It's another crack that
disabled password checking completely that gave this 'problem'.

Hi Paul,

Where can I get the manual protection crack? Could you e-mail it to
me?

Thanks,
Carlo van Leeuwen.
