Just updated my site again.. ( http://www.racesimcentral.net/~drbryan/gpl )

I have CONFIRMED the UK date for GPL to be FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9th, 1998. (But
am not sure if its' the shipping date or on-the-shelf date). I am working on
finding an answer, however!

I also have put up the FINAL... yes FINAL Grand Prix Legends Box cover. This
is what you will be looking for in the stores in a couple of weeks. This is
the UK version.. The European/ N. American/rest of the world box MAY be
different.. I'll let you know if I hear otherwise..

Thanks for finding the answer. According to EB (as of friday 18th) the on
shelf date was October 9th. Then again the guy behind the counter seemed a
bit confused, so I don't know....

Ya, EB is pretty confused. I called my local EB today to see if I could
reserve a copy and if they had a release date for GPL. Nobody at the shop
knew anything about the game and they said they had no set release date for
it so it probably wouldn't be out for another 6 months to a year! I assured
them that it would probably be a bit shorter time than that and though they
were dubious, they agreed to reserve me a copy.

Kind of makes you wonder if Sierra should have put a few more bucks into
marketing this game a little better.

I got the same reply in my local branch.
The guy told me that it was the on shelf date. Heres to hoping.

If it is October 9th, it means we have 2 great games to buy - GPL and Colin
McRae Rally for the PC which is released on the same day.
What a great way to spend 70 !!

There is confusion for the EB folks since the game is listed as "SS
Grand Prix Legends" . The SS standing for Sierra Sports. If they do
an alpha search on grand prix legends, they won't find it. My store
manager was very diligent and went through every last item until we
found it under the s's.
