Thought you should all know

I spotted GPL in a DVD box - hundreds of them in HMV and *** in Leicester

9.99 or two for 15

I'm getting me a spare!

Same sort of thing happened with Unreal Tournament in Woolworths too. Surely
they are doing 2 for 15 on multiple titles? I mean, no offence to you but
who the hell wants two copies of GPL? Peeps with 2 networked computers can
just use the nocd patch for example so not even they would want it.

Pete :)

I have three copies of GPL at the mo: one working copy, one backup copy
and one bought to reward Papy for being generally wonderful and great.
The last is clearly the most important....

Excellent. I got my copy from a fine friend like yourself who bought
up a bunch of boxes just to be safe. He even kept the shrink wrap on.
I later discovered several online retailers in the states who sell the CD,
usually for $20 (Amazon, the crooks, sells it for $40).

But does the dvd box contain a _dvd_? I've never seen that over here.
Does the dvd have have more stuff on it?

I have two - I was trying to get a couple of friends interested in it.  Didn't
work, so the 2nd copy sits on the shelf... :(

Nope, unless GPL is a special case, in Europe we are going away from
selling games in boxes, most all games will be sold in DVD covers from
now on, which I happen to think is a good idea since the boxes are
usually full of air anyway, takes less shelf space both at home and in
the shop, that way shops can carry a greater variety of games and we
might actually see some titles that we don't usually get over here, more
war/strategy games would be good :-)

Colin !!

Well, on vacation in the US a couple of weeks ago, I spotted several
War/strategy games that I'd never even heard about before, and being an
even bigger fan of those than of racing games as of late, I wouldn't
mind seeing more of those

How's the GF these days Colin ?, tell her I said hi, and Stroemsgodset
still suck, but then again you could argue that they *are* one division
higher than *my* team, Vaalerenga.....

Oh well, life sucks...:-)

Only problem is manuals.  Especially for Flight Sims (take a look at the
Fly 2 fiasco) nothing beats a *real* printed manual which you can keep open
for reference.  A .pdf manual isn't quite the same.
