N99 StartUp and Options

Installed N99 from CD-ROM.  Attempted to run from initial screen generated by CD-ROM.  It
opens, the wheel and pedals will not respond and there is no sound.

Created a shortcut to MS-DOS with NR1999.exe, executed soundset.exe, set all options and
it works.  The manual on page 15 refers to a "simulation mode".  Realistic and Arcade are
the only two options that I can spot.  Please explain.

In Race Weekend Type they also mention "instant and full".  Basic and testing are the only
two made available.  Will someone please clarify?

You need to configure it via SetSound... and the wheel must be calibrate via
the Windows Direct Input Game controller calibration, also (for the Win
mode)...

Simulation = realistic mode

testing are the only
