I am thinking of buying a Thrustmaster T1 wheel but I haven't seen any
reviews or anything like that, so I was wondering what all of you think.
Is it worth my 100+ dollars?  What does it come with?  Is it easy to use?
All I want to use it with is IndyCar and NASCAR racing.

Any reply appreciated,

Well, consider this a vote for. I only use it for NASCAR (the only
driving sim I run) The improvement over driving with the joystick was
incredible! Well worth the money.

It comes with a pedal unit and a steering unit. The steering unit has a
gearshift knob and two buttons (in addition to the steering wheel of
course)

On top of it all, Thrustmaster is a great company to deal with. Fantastic
customer support.

Yes, Yes and Yes. It makes the sim much more enjoyable.
It takes a few days to get used to, but is a blast to use.
But I'm speaking from a nascar/indycar sim fanatic's point of view.

I have had one for over a year (I think - at least since they first
came out), and I love it.  I use it for Nascar, IndyCar, and formerly
for World Circuit.  The experience is so much better than with a
joystick -- I won't race without it!  Also, it is the least expensive
of the steering-wheel/pedal combos, and Thrustmaster has some of the
best support and repair/replacement in the computer business.

Just one thing : your laptimes with Nascar and Indycar will improve (more
accurate steering), but with F1GP I got worse times (with keys you get steer
more direct and to the full extent, and with a T1 your "reaction" is late and
slow)

The best reviews are from actual users of the product!  I use the T1 with
NASCAR Racing and IndyCar both. (although I *am* partial to stock cars!) It
is well worth the 100+ dollars!!!  In fact, I think anyone who plays it on a
joystick or keyboard (gads! is there anyone is this position?!?!), who tries
it on the T1, will never want to go back.  It's very controllable.

If your desk or computer stand doesn't stick well with plastic suction cup
feet, they even include heavy-duty velcro (believe me it works wonderful!)

-If mine broke today, I would go out and buy a new one ASAP. (which by the
way, it's been used and abused and still ticking)

I've had a T1 for about a week now. It's a hell of a lot better than
using a keyboard. There are others out there costing $250-400!! For the
money, I paid $132 at Computer City, it's definitetly worth the investment.
I hear alot about the pedal springs breaking or the clunking on the steering
wheel, nut I also hear that Thrustmaster is excellent when it comes to
customer support.
